Last night Calvin Klein Collection’s Creative Directors’ Francisco Costa and Italo Zucchelli hosted a special evening in collaboration with Los Angeles Nomadic Division (LAND) to celebrate Los Angeles Arts Month and Art Los Angeles Contemporary (ALAC), the international contemporary art fair of Los Angeles.

The invitation-only event was held in a new, multi-level space in Los Angeles which was customized for a one-of-a-kind experiential evening, bringing together the worlds of art and fashion, with works on display by artists Jennifer West, and Jean Shin, and curator Neville Wakefield – all of whom were in attendance.

Those in attendance who were wardrobed by Calvin Klein Collection included Penelope Cruz, Kate Bosworth, Ryan Phillippe, Jared Leto, Ginnifer Goodwin, Abbie Cornish, Michelle Monaghan, Greg Kinnear, Ali Larter, Melissa George, Molly Sims, Milla Jovovich, Kellan Lutz, Mehcad Brooks, Ryan Kwanten, Dasha Zhukova, Andy Whitfield, Lisa Edelstein, Matthew Bomer, Rosetta Getty, Shamim M. Momin, Rachel Griffiths, China Chow, Chris Klein, Michelle Alves, Coco Rocha, Elise Crombez, Jordana Brewster, Jessica White, Sarah Wynter, Jean Shin, Neville Wakefield, Jennifer West, Tony Ward, Monet Mazur, Lisa Anastos, Crystal Lourd, Peter Facinelli, Stavros Niarchos, and Andrew Taylor.

Each of the women's looks were designed by Mr. Costa, the Women’s Creative Director and each of the men's looks were designed by Mr. Zucchelli, the Men’s Creative Director.

Other notables in attendance included, Honor Fraser, Terence Koh, Guy Oseary, Marc Foxx, Bijou Phillips Maggie Grace, Jason Silva, Arianne Phillips, Olympia Scarry, Cordula Reyer, Tallulah Harlech, Oliver Jackson Cohen, Nicky Hilton, Victoria Brynner, Lady Victoria Hervey, Paul W.S. Anderson, Lorenzo Martone, PC Valmorbida, Priscilla Woolworth, Bettina Korek & Roman Alonso, Laura Bickford, Elizabeth Callender, Amanda Eliasch, Dan Peres, Chris Brenner, Max Lugavere, Penny Lovell, Lisa Love, and Joe Zee, among others..
For this special evening, Costa’s Spring 2010 Calvin Klein Collection was presented in a work by Ms. Shin titled, “Pattern Folds,” an art installation commissioned by Calvin Klein, Inc. and unveiled last month at a Calvin Klein Collection event in Seoul, South Korea. The series of suspended panels were inspired by the materials, forms and design process, and derived from the looks in Mr. Costa’s runway collection where she utilized the actual patterns and fabrics from the collection.

A dynamic installation of three films, never before screened in Los Angeles, was presented by LAND artist Ms. West.  Ms. West makes 16mm, 35mm and 70mm films by manipulating the film celluloid to a level of performance. West’s practice is characteristically influenced by urban mythology, folklore and popular culture, and often addresses issues of the body, of gender, and of self-presentation. For the event, Ms. West’s installation featured “Daisies Roll Up Film,” “A 70MM Film Wearing Thick Heavy Black Liquid Eyeliner That Gets Smeary,” “Skinny-dipping Carbon Beach Malibu Film – In Front of David Geffen's House,” and “Rainbow Party on 70MM Film.”

British curator, Mr. Wakefield conceived an installation to echo the themes of Mr. Zucchelli’s Spring 2010 Calvin Klein Collection.

For Calvin Klein Collection, this is another in a series of global events that the company has been holding over the past few years in important and exciting global markets. Previous locations include Seoul, Dubai, Rio De Janeiro, Tokyo, Shanghai, Beijing, London, and New York.
