The origins. An intense, resolute land
Calabria, a captivatingly beautiful land, is set as a jewel between two majestic seas, an arresting blend of ancient history and rich cultural heritage. The deep roots of an ancient land resonate with distant echoes of Magna Graecia. The mythical ScIlla, on the edge of the world, immersed in a splendid, untamed nature.
Mountains and plateaux offer breath taking views. Villages cling to the rocks, under dazzling blue skies, each with its own history and traditions. This unique and fascinating land is the home to the most precious varieties of bergamot, the ideal habitat for the vast stretches of citrus groves which have been cultivated with care and passion for centuries, and where, with the passing of the seasons, each bergamot fruit is imbued with the reflections of the sea, the colours of the earth, the fragrance of the wind and the vitality of the sun.

Essential oil of bergamot has always been one of the main traditional ingredients of “haute parfumerie”. Acqua di Parma carefully selects only the purest, top quality oil extracted exclusively
from fruits guaranteed by the D.O.P seal (denoting protected denomination of origin) and certified by the Bergamot Consortium of Reggio Calabria. A high grade essence obtained by combining two different varieties of fruit, each with a different olfactive personality: the first from the groves cultivated along the Ionian coast and the second from the areas around Reggio Calabria.

The fragrance opens with a burst of vitalizing energy. The green, sparkling top notes of bergamo are reinforced by the freshness of citron, also from Calabria. The perfume slowly reveals its fruity, floral heart accord of bergamot enhanced by nuances of cedar wood and red ginger. The base notes unfold with the richest, warmest accords of the fragrance, an unusual combination of vetiver, benzoin and musk.
