Aquazzura, the Italian luxury footwear brand by designer Edgardo Osorio, announced the opening of its first flagship store.

Both the store and new headquarters are located in the left wing of the iconic Palazzo Corsini in Florence, the city where the brand’s shoes are designed, produced and have since become objects of desire for celebrities and trendsetters from around the world.

The store is the only place in the world to carry the complete Aquazzura collection as well as offering exclusive styles, the bridal collection, and made-to-order services, giving customers a truly unique Aquazzura shopping experience.
Designed by renowned interior designers Claudia and Catarina Soares Pereira, the space creates harmony between the beauty of the original structure and the contemporary design and discrete luxury, keeping true to the cores of high quality.
The flagship store is divided into two main spaces; the store is connected to the new headquarters by original hand painted doors of the palazzo to the new Aquazzura headquarters.

Aquazzurra in FlorenceThe entrance has a graphic and surreal feel, with black and white marble stripes, black boiseries, vibrant lacquered green displays and gigantic silk banana palm trees. The main space is characterised by the strong contrast of the recently restored seventeenth century frescoes on the ceilings of the Palazzo and the opulent black and white Belgian marble wall, the elegant french grey and gold boiseries, a long dark grey marble cross walk and other refined elements such graphic hand woven carpets.

Vivid green velvet sofas, blue silk pillows, exquisitely designed furniture in french gold brass and vintage lamps create an intimate and elegant feel. The Aquazzura shoe collection is showcased in unique polished steel-framed crystal displays, specially designed to be integrated seamlessly into the historical structure of the Palazzo.

The new headquarters and design studio were inspired by the vibrant colours of the Pompeii frescoes of the original ceiling of the space, utilising strong colours throughout the design to echo the hues of the original artwork. Clean lines, well balanced and symmetric use of space and light in juxtaposition with high quality textures and sophisticated materials are key feature of the whole project.
“I am delighted to open our first store in Florence where our story began only three years ago. Aquazzura is a truly international company but we remain strongly devoted to our Florentine soul. It is a huge privilege to be able to open our flagship store and new headquarters at Palazzo Corsini, a rare historic landmark and prestigious examples of Baroque architecture from the Florentine Renaissance”. Edgardo Osorio, President and Creative Director
