Giorgio Armani introduces the fifth chapter in ‘The Scent of Life’, the original series in which man faces nature’s most essential element, water, in all its forms.
Echoing Acqua di Giò fragrance’s authentic world, each chapter tells the story of an athlete with a special connection to water, who reaches beyond himself, outside of his comfort zone.
The fifth chapter captures Stéphane Tourreau, the 33-year-old French freediving World Champion.
A celebration of man’s connection to nature through a powerful abandon into the waters’ depths, the new episode of ‘The Scent of Life’ sees Stéphane Tourreau meet water with a profound intensity.
The film reveals a man, who with a single breath, deep dives into water. There, he defies fear by swimming amongst a school of sharks, finding freedom in a state of mindfulness.
“Water is my element. It connects me to hidden worlds. With every dive I feel this pure, unstoppable energy, awakening a new state of mind, heightening my senses, pushing my limits to go deeper, and explore who I really am.” Stéphane Tourreau
This is the Scent of Life.
THE SCENT OF LIFE, AN ANTHOLOGY
Unveiled in 2017, ‘The Scent of Life’ series focuses on how athletes use their physical and inner strength to become one with the elements, conveying values of connection to nature and authenticity. The five athletes each personify, in their own unique way, the ethos of Acqua di Giò – confidence, virility and grace.
Each chapter in ‘The Scent of Life’ anthology is a standalone film.
The first chapter saw British kiteboarder Tom Court braving wild ocean waters in Cape Town, South Africa. In the second American speed skater Joey Mantia faced the might of nature in skating on the majestic, frozen Lake Baikal in Russia
. In the third chapter American and world champion diver David Boudia took on a cliff dive against the backdrop of Thailand’s breath-taking scenery. Most recently, in the fourth chapter Italian wakeboarding champion Nicolò Caimi fearlessly surrendered to the elements of Lake Powell, in the US Colorado River.
ACQUA DI GIÒ, THE ICONIC FRAGRANCE
Since its launch in 1996, Acqua di Giò has transcended trends to become a timeless, classic fragrance, celebrating the expression of man’s sensual alliance with nature.
In 2020, Giorgio Armani explores a new dimension of masculinity with an intense and exhilarating scent: ACQUA DI GIÒ PROFONDO. This new facet of the iconic fragrance goes back to the range’s origins, the sea, with a new interpretation. A captivating, deep-dive into the profundity of the sea and the soul, ACQUA DI GIÒ PROFONDO is epitomised in freediving, and a new blue intensity is unveiled through the eyes of freediver Stéphane Tourreau.
This latest edition of ‘The Scent of Life’ original series will air on the Armani beauty YouTube channel from June 2021.
