Karl Lagerfeld fall-winter 2018 collectionThe Fall-Winter 2018 collection is inspired by one of Karl Lagerfeld’s greatest passions: architecture. From classic Art Deco designs to modern icons, he has always been interested in architecture as an art form. This inspiration is reflected in the collection in various ways: minimalistic lines, feminine curves, textured fabrics and futuristic finishes. The designs have an athletic-chic feel and are embellished with distinctive KARL LAGERFELD branding.
KARL IN SPACE
A special Karl in Space capsule collection is inspired by celestial motifs, interpreted in an elevated way with boucle fabrics and silky finishes. Knitwear, sweats and accessories are topped with graphics of Karl Lagerfeld planet-hopping in a spaceship or dressed as an astronaut.
The Karl Ikonik collection returns for Fall-Winter 2018, with new, playful graphics of Karl Lagerfeld and Choupette. The designer wears his signature attire: sunglasses, fingerless gloves and a tuxedo blazer.
READY TO WEAR
The first delivery is distinctively feminine and futuristic. Dresses and skirts are designed to emphasize the feminine shape, with flared silhouettes and curvy sleeves. Key pieces include a peplum bouclé jacket and matching ruffled skirt, plus a contrast black and white sweater with a matching panel skirt. Seaming is not only a functional element of each garment’s structure, but a more pronounced detail.
The collection then evolves with minimalistic, modern, angular lines. The tuxedo cape is updated with straight stitch details on the lapel, while the iconic biker jacket is elevated with a high collar and stud embroidery. There is also a textured wool trench coat with oversized lapels, and a fit-and-flare leather dress with blocked stitch finishing. Pieces are cut from futuristic fabrics, with reflective trims and strong KARL LAGERFELD branding.
Finally, a mix of textures bring added character to the pieces, like hammered silk or metallic lamé. Key silhouettes include a sleek black jumpsuit with a studded lapel, and a little black dress with folded fabric inserts at the décolleté. For special occasions, a tailored wool cape can be paired with sleek, studded trousers.
The favourite K/Signature shoulderbag is updated in a luxurious calf hair finish, in navy, ballet pink or rich merlot red. For a more rock-chic look, another new edition of the K/Signature features metallic studs on the front panel.
The K/Kuilted line has been refreshed with all-over miniature studs, available in black and cherry red. There is also a knew K/Klassik Quilted with a V-shaped quilting pattern on shoulderbags, while the K/Klassik Pins styles have also been updated with velvet and fringed finishes.
For a sporty aesthetic, the K/Stripe Logo is topped with a branded KARL LAGERFELD stripe pattern on coated canvas. A range of new shapes include a shopper, a bowler bag, a weekender and small leather goods. For a rockier touch, there is also a new Saffiano leather group with angular, graphic flaps and metal tubes.
Styles are complemented by a new range of straps and top handles, which are sold individually; they can be mixed-and-matched to add a personalised touch to the bags.
