It’s a jungle out there, but in the hands of British contemporary brand Markus Lupfer, the Resort 2015 is one tamed to charming effect for a joyful and contemporary take on tribal, in a way that only Lupfer can do: bombers, bananas, monkeys, beading and more.
Congo and safari blue, lime and vibrant red form the colorful canvas of this collection, one underpinned by abstract graphics, vibrant textures and distinctive shapes infused with the idea that resort is about travel.
Here Lupfer’s adventure evokes a celebration of the boldness of African textiles through vivid colour play and print, showcased on sophisticated seperates and perfect pre-Christmas party dresses.
Resort 2015 sees the introduction of a new longer, voluminous skirt shape, kept young paired with boxy crop tips and jackets. Other standout silhouettes focus on angular shapes and cut outs, with elastic strapping details and clashing contrast zips to cement that youthful Markus Lupfer style.
Diverse fabrications are at the heart of the collection – Lupfer creates his own abstract Lurex jaquards to sit alongside a rich blue foral matelassé and bright zigzag fil coupé.
Knitwear comes in bright primary shades and features playful hand-embellished sequin motifs and introduces a variety of new techniques such as geometric enamel embellishments, graphic beaded placements and bold irregular stitch mixes.
Look out for giraffes, zebras, tigers cups, bongo drums and slogans such as “Monkey Business“ and “Welcome to the Jungle.“
It’s a sartorial safari alright.
