Performance luxury brand Canada Goose and Cole Sprouse bring the raw beauty of island landscapes to life in the brand’s Spring 2023 campaign, renewing their creative partnership for a third season. Using both analog and digital cameras and leveraging his signature reportage style, Sprouse captures the spirit of community and the true moments of joy inspired by the natural elements as part of Canada Goose’s Live in the Open campaign.

Capturing the sentiment of awe that comes from grounding oneself in the outside world through Sprouse’s lens, the campaign is underpinned by Canada Goose’s Live in the Open ethos, drawing inspiration from its Basecamp community that encourages deeper connections with the natural world and with each other. Inspired by lush, natural beauty, the protagonists venture out amidst the ever-changing climate of the Azores, providing the perfect backdrop to showcase Canada Goose’s product assortment for the Spring 23 season.
Whether it’s camping, hiking through luscious green trails adorned with waterfalls and lakes, or rediscovering the city, Canada Goose’s transitional pieces, including its newest windwear styles for women and men, offer style and protection. They are made from AcclimaLuxe, a multifunctional water-repellent, wind-resistant, and durable fabric with a luxurious feel and a textured finish which hides wrinkles, making it a great option for packing and travel. The Sinclair Wind Jacket has front and back venting for breathability, a cropped fit and relaxed shoulders for mobility.
The Lundell Wind Jacket has a drawcord at the waist for adjustable sinching, a two-way front zipper and adjustable hood for customizable protection. The Faber Wind Hoody includes vents for breathability as well as reinforced zippered front hand pockets, while the Faber Wind Bomber has a traditional bomber style with a knit framed hem and minimal pockets for a clean, elevated design.
In addition to the new wind jackets, the campaign also features a selection of rain jackets, lightweight pieces, hats and footwear, offering stylish layering options and protection. With its footwear collection, Canada Goose protects people no matter the elements they step into. The Journey Boot for men and women is inspired by the traditional hiker footwear, while the Cypress Puffer Boot and Crofton Puffer Boot are designed for weightless warmth. With that same lightweight feeling, the Crofton Jacket and Crofton Vest are the perfect styles to carry all season long – versatile, easy to layer and packable for easy portability.
The Crofton family is made from Recycled Feather-Light Ripstop Shiny, crafted from 100% Recycled Nylon, the styles are designed to withstand winds and light rain to keep you dry and comfortable in unpredictable weather. Similarly, the Kenora Jacket (PRICE) is designed for elevated performance in a lightweight package as it can easily roll up and stow away into its hood. With its relaxed fit and exaggerated A-line silhouette, the Kitsilano Jacket is great for layering and designed to withstand heavy downpours and harsh winds. Both styles are made from Tri-Durance, a three-layer bonded hardshell fabric crafted for lightweight wear with added stretch that allows for excellent range of motion and comfort during all active pursuits. The Minden Jacket is crafted from Dura-Force, a midweight fabric selected for its versatility and superior protection from harsh winds. It is the ideal breeze-blocking staple with its fully adjustable hood for added warmth and protection.
To top things off, the Horizon Reversible Bucket Hat offers rain and wind protection and is fully reversible, while the Tonal Cap is designed with a low-profile silhouette and features the brand’s signature disc in tonal finish. This season’s collection is inspired by the Azores’ blooming spring season and foliage and ever-changing skies with soft pinks and muted tones such as Sunset Pink, Sagebrush and Northwood Khaki, and various blues such as Glacier Blue and Ozone Blue.
Set against the stunning trails of the Azores islands in Portugal, photographer and actor Cole Sprouse captures the honest reactions of the protagonists as they explore the sights of the island, immersing themselves in their surroundings and deepening their relationship and connection with the world around them and the people on it.
“For our third instalment in our Live in the Open series, we traveled to the Portuguese islands of the Azores,” said Sprouse. “To capture the sense of connection and reverence experienced distinctively amongst nature, we ensured all five members of this voyage were given their own recording device to document their personal experience through Portugal, woven into the final campaign video.”
